Instructional Fiddle

Someone to help me learn to play fiddle quick?

I want to learn fiddle before I go to grad school in a year. I am willing to put in ALOT of time and money. I can’t seem to find a school just for this or someone to teach me. I want to have an instructor and not try to learn by myself by using some of those instructional DVDs. Does anyone know of an intense program or teacher that can show me how to play?

There are no intense programs, only students who learn quickly. You don’t need to find a school devoted to fiddle, just a teacher who knows how to play violin. A classically trained violinist who knows something about fiddle music is usually a better teacher than someone who has only studied fiddle. Classical training makes you pay more attention to technique and figuring out why things work or don’t work which means someone with that training can get you past your technique barriers more efficiently.

There may be a community music school in your area. Ask at local music stores. Just be careful – some stores hire one person to teach eight or ten different instruments and that person may only be marginally familiar with some of them.

Instructional Theory $95.59 Instructional theory is a discipline that focuses on how to structure material for promoting the education of human beings, particularly youth. Originating in the United States in the late 1970s, instructional theory is typically divided into two categories: the cognitive and behaviorist schools of thought. Instructional theory was spawned off the 1956 work of Benjamin Bloom, a University of Chicago professor, and the results of his Taxonomy of Education Objectives one of the first modern codifications of the learning process. One of the first instructional theorists was Robert M. Gagne, who in 1965 published Conditions of Learning for the Florida State Universitys Department of Educational Research.
